Crucimorph

The Embodiment of Suffering

Crucimorph

Overview

Nicknamed "Suffering Incarnate", Crucimorph is the most powerful crucimold in Elutheria; the result of perfect circumstances from a high amount the most potent forms of Crucimen combining over hundreds of thousands of years. He is the leader of the Crucimold army, but despite that, is only evil by obligation.

Crucimorph is manically obsessed with the balance of good and evil, as well as true justice. He goes even as far as to let the protagonists prepare for their battle with him, as he claims; "I only wish to fight a force of good as prepared as me". He justifies his heinous and brutal actions by saying "suffering and despair are the only things that give joy and prosperity true meaning".

Enraged with Elutheria's complete lack of balance between good and evil-- having been a peaceful country with minimal crime and death for the last generation-- Crucimorph agreed to unleash his army of Crucimolds for Dimas, attacking the surface world and stowing chaos throughout the kingdom. Crucimorph himself stayed within the depths of the Great Elutherian Mines, using it as a base of operations for his army.

Fight Overview

Crucimorph is an exceptionally tough opponent and, being a Heavy enemy, rarely staggers from attacks. Although he has no way of forcing the player to approach him barring approaching them himself, Crucimorph will apply constant pressure with almost unrelenting attacks. At close range, he will either unleash a devastating 5-hit combo, or attempt to grab the player and throw them, dealing high damage. At long range, Crucimorph will either summon Fibs, Haymakers, or Hextics to harass the player, or unleash his Crucispikes underneath the player.

In his second phase, he starts to attack more frequently, and will stop summoning enemies at long range. Instead, he will charge down the player and attempt to grab them if they stray away from him too long. His Crucispikes will unleash faster, giving the player less time to react. Once, during this phase, often right after entering it, Crucimorph will enter a state in which he is completely encapsulated by a barrier, with various enemies powering it. They must be defeated to progress the fight.

Phase 1

Crucimorph will use this attack if the player is close. He unleashes a 5-hit combo on the player, which are designed to hit consecutively if the player fails to avoid it.

Phase 2

Crucimorph uses this attack if the player is close. Identical to Hopeless before, but it deals slightly more damage overall and the finisher always knocks the player down.
