Durennel City

Overview

Durennel City is the largest settlement in Elutheria barring Elutheria Castle. It is a highly religious city, almost entirely dedicated to worshipping the Goddess, and is where the majority of Elutheria's population resides. The town has a gondola system leading to Ariagale Sanctuary, which becomes a major plot point. The protagonists enter it for the first time after defeating Decabra in the Steampipe Springs.

Notable Events

• The player enters Durennel City after being instructed by Decabra to return a doll to a little girl. After the doll is safely returned, the little girl realizes Alina is the princess, and acts very excited. When questioned, she says today is the annual Princess Festival, where Elutheria celebrates Alina and her late mother Galidas for their excellent leadership of Elutheria.

• After being led to the archbishop of Durennel City, he confides in the protagonists two major problems; 1, the girls who are supposed to ride pegesi during the parade are feeling unwell and need a replacement, and 2, the gondola leading to Ariagale Sanctuary isn't returning, which may mean something has happened to the pilgrims up there. After some planning, the protagonists decide to kill 2 birds with 1 stone; Zedekiah and Alina will take the sick performers' place in the parade, and will use the flying pegesi to get up to Ariagale Sanctuary.
