Steampipe Springs (SPS)

A strange steampunk-esque facility constructed by the precursors, supplying irrigation to Elutheria's farms.

Summary

Steampipe Springs is a dank, metallic facility on the Northwestern coast of Elutheria, and extends out into the waters for about a mile. The entrance to the facility is enshrouded by Mecnos Town, which holds the entrance near and dear, not permitting anyone in without express permission from the Elder. The inner facility is coated with pipes, valves, and other mechanical gadgets not found anywhere else in Elutheria, providing a steep contrast to the less technologically-advanced kingdom.

The portions of the Facility that are underwater are almost glowing; the bright blue water shines valiantly against the walls of the pools.

Notable Events

  • The player enters the area for the first time after a detour in GEM.

  • They quickly obtain Ice Bolt before they can leave, but can also obtain Inferno if they continue exploring. They cannot continue further due to the Steampipe Springs requiring the Mecnos Town's Grand Elder Alcmene to unlock it, who initially refuses but allows the protagonists to explore the unlocked areas of the facility to clean it of Crucimolds.

  • After defeating Crucimorph, the player is expected to return. Alcmene decides to allow the protagonists entry after being given a vision from the Goddess of what is to become of Elutheria should she not-- similar to the dream Zedekiah had at the beginning of the game.

  • The player can obtain Mermaid's Blessing.

  • The protagonists defeat Decabra. Although disappointed he lost the duel, he instructs the protagonists to return a doll he'd found in the sea to a girl in Durennel City.
