Scorchstones

Scorchstones are puzzling creatures made of rock and magma found exclusively within the hellscapes of the Scorchfreeze Sierras. It is unknown whether they are truly "alive", but are exceptionally territorial and hostile. They attack any intruders on their soil, as the bodies of their prey will decompose into the soil, which is believed to be a necessary part of their reproductive cycle. They show no signs of sentience, and only very basic intelligence with an instinctual desire to hunt.
