Development Plan

Below is the rough plan for how I intend to go about developing SOULBLAZE. Y'know, by myself. Included are the approximate times when I want to reach each phase. Subject to change as development runs its course.

Phase 1 | Present - Q3-4 2024

Phase 1 consists mostly of creating the GDD for SOULBLAZE (what you're reading!) and solidifying concepts and ideas for a solid idea of how the game works. I don't want to start development without first knowing what needs to be done.

Once the GDD is at a point where I feel I have a rock-solid vision for the game, and I feel comfortable in my skill and education to begin, as well as having the motivation, I'll create a prototype to test key features and see how they perform in practice. This won't be anything fancy, and it'll honestly probably look really shitty.

Once the prototyping phase is complete, and I'm sure I have a solid foundation for the game, we can move on to phase 2.

Phase 2 | Q4 2024 - Q2-3 2025

Phase 2 is the big one. At this point, I'll begin active development on the game, potentially bringing more people on board to help with the game. At the same time, I'll also begin forming SOULBLAZE's public image, generating interest in the game and setting up a Patreon or something, as well as potentially having a publisher (most likely Bigmode).

At this point, the game should be no longer in a prototype, now with the game being actively shaped into the concepts with full confidence. Hopefully, by the end of phase 2, SOULBLAZE should have a noticeable social media presence and potentially a publisher.

Phase 3 | Q1 2026 - ???

Phase 3 is when SOULBLAZE's release date is offically announced. This will consist of keeping the public interested and happy with the game's image, as well as any potential publishers. On the development side, by this time, at least 75% of the game's linear content should be finished.
