Crucimen and Crucimolds
The pure embodiment of negativity
Although the soul may have nearly infinite magical energy, that does not mean magic is free. A byproduct is produced when a human casts a spell, called Crucimen. Normally, this sludgeous, clear substance is harmless and naturally filtered and expelled out of the body. However, produced in high enough amounts, this can end up clogging the human soul, causing someone to be temporarily or even permanently unable to cast magic, dubbed "Crucimen-locked". This often happens when someone performs significantly more magic than they are naturally used to, or casts too many spells far too powerful for them.
The most important thing about Crucimen is its ability to absorb the negative emotional and spiritual state of the caster. This leaves the Crucimen "charged" with an emotion, significantly increasing its toxicity level and turning it into a black, viscous liquid. After the charged Crucimen is naturally expelled from the body, it will eventually congregate underground and form a Crucimold.
Crucimolds
CrucimoldsWhen enough similarly-charged Crucimen collects together underground, it creates a Crucimold. Crucimolds are relatively simple creatures that exist with one goal, often just to perform the one action their charge was created by. For example, Rage Crucimolds (Haymakers) are violent and territorial, and exhibit a constant state of aggression, while Mischief Crucimolds (Fibs) are mischievous and love being a nuisance.
